Current Programmes

Each programme is designed to fit around a working schedule. Prerequisites, time commitment, and assessment are stated before enrolment.

Foundations of Machine Learning
10 weeks · Evening

Foundations of Machine Learning

Linear algebra and probability refreshers, data handling with pandas, supervised learning from linear models through gradient boosting, model evaluation and cross-validation. Two live sessions per week of 90 minutes. Does not cover deep learning or deployment.

  • Prerequisite: Python functions, loops, virtual environments
  • Four graded assignments + one reviewed project
  • Cohort size: maximum 24 participants

Applied Language Model Engineering
12 weeks · Evening

Applied Language Model Engineering

For developers building on top of existing language models. Covers prompt structure and evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, context management, cost and latency budgeting, offline evaluation harnesses, and failure analysis. Running project from prototype to deployed internal service.

  • Prerequisite: working Python, basic HTTP and Git
  • Third-party API costs ~RM 120 borne by student
  • Prototype to deployed service project included
RM 2,900 Enquire
Data Preparation for Machine Learning
3 weeks · Short Course

Data Preparation for Machine Learning

Two evenings per week across three weeks. Schema design, joining messy sources, handling missing values, feature construction, leakage checks, dataset versioning and provenance documentation. Four live workshops with recorded reference material and two graded exercises.

  • Prerequisite: basic Python and SQL

How These Programmes Are Structured

What to expect before, during, and after each programme.

Stated Prerequisites

Each programme lists what you need to know before starting. No entry without meeting the stated technical baseline.

Evening Format

Sessions run Monday and Wednesday evenings, 7:30–9:00 PM. Designed for people with day jobs who want to add new technical skills without taking leave.

Instructor Review

Assignments are reviewed by an instructor, not auto-graded. Written feedback is returned within five working days of each submission.

Small Cohorts

The ten-week programme caps at 24 participants. Questions during live sessions get actual answers, not a forum thread.

Honest Scope

Each programme states what it does not cover. You will know before enrolment what is excluded and what comes next if you want to continue.

Named Tooling

Every library, service and approximate third-party cost is listed before you enrol. No surprises about what software or accounts you will need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a degree in mathematics to join the ML Foundations programme?

Not a degree, but comfort with the concepts will matter. The programme opens with linear algebra and probability refreshers, so you do not need to arrive already knowing these topics. What is assumed is that you can work in Python — functions, loops, virtual environments — and that you are prepared to spend roughly six hours each week outside of live sessions.

What exactly is the time commitment per week?

For the ten-week programme: two live sessions of 90 minutes each, plus approximately six hours of independent practice. That is roughly nine hours per week. The twelve-week programme follows the same session structure with a running project that accumulates across the term.

Can I take the Data Preparation short course before the ML Foundations programme?

Yes, that is one stated use of the short course. It is also available as a standalone programme for analysts who work with data already and want to formalise their approach to schema design, missing values and provenance. The prerequisite is basic Python and SQL rather than the full Python comfort level the ten-week programme requires.

How is assessment handled? Are there exams?

No timed exams. The ten-week programme uses four graded assignments and one project reviewed line by line by an instructor. The Language Model Engineering programme uses a running project taken from prototype to deployed internal service. The short course has two graded exercises. Written feedback is returned for each submission.

What does the RM 2,900 fee for Applied LM Engineering cover?

It covers tuition, live sessions, instructor feedback and access to course materials for the twelve-week programme. It does not cover third-party API costs, which come to approximately RM 120 over the term and are paid directly by the student to the relevant providers.

Are sessions recorded if I need to miss one?

Live sessions are recorded and available to enrolled participants for the duration of the programme. We do expect most participants to attend live where possible; the recordings are for when life gets in the way, not as a substitute for attending.

Do you offer any group or corporate enrolment pricing?

Yes. For teams of three or more from the same organisation we are open to a conversation about cohort pricing and scheduling. Contact us directly to discuss what you are looking to achieve and which programmes are relevant.
